Catalyst 2030 General Assembly – May

Our Movement Governance & CCW Celebrations

People working together

The Catalyst 2030 General Assembly (GA) is the space for our community to discuss common strategies and co-create Catalyst’s network initiatives. The GA is the movement’s monthly meeting when all members are welcome to share new ideas, provide updates on progress with collaborations, share calls to action to accelerate our common impact and celebrate each other’s achievements.

For the first time, the Catalyst 2030 General Assembly was hosted by Andreas Stefanidis, President of the Academy of Entrepreneurship, alongside Kamilah Sanders. Their leadership marked a significant step in fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.

The May General Assembly of Catalyst 2030 was a dynamic and structured event, designed to foster collaboration and celebrate community achievements. Here’s a concise breakdown of the key stages:

  1. Community Building New members were welcomed, and the importance of community wellbeing was highlighted. Attendees were encouraged to introduce themselves and connect.
  2. Governance Updates An update on the movement’s governance was provided, including a discussion on the draft Governance Manual and feedback sessions in breakout rooms.
  3. Movement Highlights The session covered the state of the movement, showcasing collective impact and upcoming initiatives. Discussions also focused on supporting global issues through collaboration.
  4. Celebrations and Awards Achievements from the recent Catalysing Change Week 2024 were celebrated, and details about the upcoming awards were shared.
  5. Communications and Networking Updates on communications and branding efforts were presented, followed by information on new chapters and regional initiatives. Upcoming learning series and networking opportunities were also introduced.

Academy of Entrepreneurship was also part of the Catalysing Change Week (CCW) which was dedicated to Building the Social Innovation Sector.

The Academy of Entrepreneurship, represented by Andreas Stefanidis participated in the session “Entrepreneurial Skills in the Public Sector”. The Entrepreneurial Skills in the Public sector webinar aimed at the discussion of the development of entrepreneurial thinking in the public sector in the European area.

About Catalyst 2030

Catalyst 2030 is a fast-growing global movement of people and organisations committed to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS) by 2030.

Launched at the World Economic Forum in Davos in January 2020, Catalyst 2030 is a social entrepreneur and innovator-led movement responding to a global call to action for people and planet.

The movement was co-founded in 2019 by a diverse group of social entrepreneurs, many as members of our ecosystem partners: Ashoka, Echoing Green, the Schwab Foundation of the World Economic Forum and the Skoll Foundation. One Family Foundation incubated Catalyst 2030 and continues as its fiscal sponsor. Panorama Global facilitated and managed funding from 2021-2023 as fiscal sponsor.

Alongside communities, governments, businesses, funders and others, we are forming inclusive and locally-led collaborations, creating connections across borders and cultures.
