Teachers Upskilling in Multicultural Classrooms

Erasmus+ KA1 Training Programme | June 2025

The Academy of Entrepreneurship successfully organized and hosted a five-day Erasmus+ KA1 training titled “Teachers Upskilling in Multicultural Classrooms” for seven educators from Josif Josifovski VET High School in North Macedonia. The training, held at AKEP’s headquarters in Athens, focused on equipping teachers with inclusive pedagogical methods, innovative tools, and well-being strategies for diverse classroom environments.

Running from 16–20 June 2025, the programme blended interactive workshops, hands-on activities, and reflective practices. Led by a team of expert trainers, the training empowered participants to enhance their skills in managing multicultural classrooms using modern, inclusive, and learner-centered approaches.

Day 1 – Theatre and Performative Arts in Education

Trainers:

Participants explored how performative arts can foster inclusion and emotional expression in the classroom, while building trust and reflective thinking through participatory activities.


Day 2 – Artificial Intelligence in Today’s Classroom

Trainer:

  • Anastasios Giannaros, Researcher in Blockchain & AI and Technology Adult Educator

This session introduced the practical use of AI tools for instructional design, lesson planning, and student engagement. Ethical considerations and the evolving role of AI in education were also discussed.

Day 3 – Well-being in Multicultural Classrooms

Trainer:

  • Aimilia Markouizou-Gkika, Individual & Family Systemic Psychotherapist and Adult Trainer

A workshop dedicated to stress management, emotional balance, and resilience strategies. Teachers practiced techniques to support their own well-being while cultivating a positive classroom climate.


Day 4 – Principles of Inclusive and Intercultural Education

Trainer:

  • Glykeria Arapi, Sociologist with 25 years of experience in the civil society sector

The group engaged in experiential training focusing on equality, togetherness, and self-determination. Educators enhanced their understanding of intercultural principles and developed tools for inclusive teaching in both formal and non-formal contexts.


Day 5 – Engaging Course Design & Training Evaluation

Trainers:

  • Andreas Stefanidis, President of the Academy of Entrepreneurship, Adult Trainer

  • Alessandro Carbone, Senior Project Manager, Social Worker, and Adult Trainer

Participants learned how to transform course outlines into impactful educational experiences. The day concluded with training evaluation and group reflection to consolidate learning outcomes and feedback.
