Actions in case of personal data breach [1]
Under Article 33 of the GDPR, the Academy of Entrepreneurship is required to handle every personal data breach in the context of its obligations regarding the security of processing. In case the breach is likely to result in a risk to the rights and freedoms of the persons concerned, the Academy of Entrepreneurship must notify the breach in question to the HDPA.
The form for the data breach notification to the HDPA can be found here.
Such notification must be made without undue delay and, where feasible, not later than 72 hours after the Academy of Entrepreneurship has become aware of it. The notification must contain specific information (e.g. nature/scope of the breach, categories of persons affected, cause and consequences of the breach, measures taken to address it, etc.). Even if all the above information is not available at the time of submitting the notification, the latter should be submitted as an initial notification to be subsequently updated without undue delay (by submitting a supplementary notification).
Even if the data breach is unlikely to result in a risk to the natural persons concerned, and therefore it is not required to submit the above notification to the HDPA, the Academy of Entrepreneurship must record the data breach and keep an internal record.
In any case of a personal data breach, the Academy of Entrepreneurship will communicate the breach to the individuals who are affected without undue delay. The communication will be made in the form of personalised information and not by a communication of a general nature, insofar as this is possible.
At the same time, the Academy of Entrepreneurship will conduct a thorough analysis of the breach to understand its cause and update its data protection policies to avoid any future incidents.

Regulations and Laws for Data Protection
- Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation)
You can read the regulation (available in all European languages) here.
- Greek Law 4624/2019
Law 4624/2019 enacts supplemental measures for the application of the General Data Protection Regulation (‘GDPR’) and incorporates Directive (ΕU) 2016/680. It includes provisions in certain areas which are left by the GDPR to the discretion of member-states and dissolves the legal uncertainty caused by the delayed supplementation of the Regulation and the parallel validity of Law 2472/1997. The Law annuls prior Law 2472/1997, excluding certain of its provisions regarding the disclosure of data by law enforcement authorities in case of specific offences, the use of visual and auditory materials in public meetings and the opt-out register for commercial communications by post. Furthermore, it maintains in force the provisions of Law 2472/1997 regarding the composition of the Data Protection Authority and the compensation of its members. Along with the frame of administrative fines to private entities.
You can find more information about the Law at Personal data legislation – Hellenic Data Protection Authority (HDPA)
Operation of CCTV systems on the premises of the Academy of Entrepreneurship
A CCTV system is operating on the premises of the Academy of Entrepreneurship to ensure the protection of all employees as well as of any beneficiaries that attend the onsite offered educational training courses.
Data must be kept for the strictly necessary time – the data controller must be able to document the reasons for choosing a specific retention period as strictly necessary. The Authority, in Directive 1/2011, set the reasonably adequate maximum retention period as, in principle, 15 days, subject to exceptions (for banks and financial institutions the period is set at 45 days). The retention period may be extended if there is an incident and the material can be used as evidence or if a data subject exercises a relevant right to restrict processing.
This policy will be regularly reviewed to adapt to the guidelines of the Supervisory Authorities and the latest legislative and jurisprudential developments.
