In times of lack of operative funding for NGO’s, associations, and profit organisations it becomes more and more relevant to draw financial liquidity from available resources, among others from European grants. Very often it is unpromising to access these funds due to their complexity, their variety, accessibility, and high competitiveness. Therefore, there is a necessity to understand – with relevant details – this generous though challenging financing mechanism. It is therefore important to collect information about available funds, to learn how to apply by means of editing a qualitative proposal which evaluators will appreciate and approve.
The training aims at offering the main and significant information and to develop capacity in learners so as to properly understand the granting scheme of the available EU programs, selecting the ones which are pertinent for own organisations, and to draft a convincing project proposal following the EU suggested methodology (Logical Frame Approach). The learners will be able to identify the related calls, draw the project idea, create a strategic partnership, design a well-structured proposal, draft a sustainable budget, and submit the bid to the related international agency.

The training will be focusing on practical activities, working exercises, interactive learning by means of directly handling calls for proposal, application forms, budget charts, web documents available on institutional sites. The balance between theory and practice will favour the learning process by enabling participants to collect relevant information and experience practical involvement on project design tools.
Optional. At the end of the training, for the participants who are interested, there will be the possibility to file a project work. Following a personal project idea, each candidate has the chance to design its own project ad fill in the related form. Trainers of AKEP will support the project work with e-consulting activity for a max period of six months.
The training is meant for those who would like to better grasp the mechanism of EU financing and verify their eligibility, for those who would like to submit bids on behalf of their organisation, for those who would like to get even more acquainted with the working methodology EU project design.
Duration and date
The training will last 18 hours organised in three working days. Timing will be 9:00 – 14:00. The coming training course will take place on the 21 st , 22 nd and 23 rd of September.
Training sessions will take place at the premises of the Academy of Entrepreneurship, at Tsiller 61 & Ros, 11144 ATHENS
Given that the official language of the EU project submission is English, this will also be the working language of the training activities and sessions. Also didactic material will be handed out in English.

Training personnel will be long-lasting international experts of EU project design and management of AKEP. Their present involvement in project development enables staff experts to share and convey secrets and experiences on the matters to participants.
Master’s in Divinity (Rome, 1987) and in Social Work (Chicago, 1992). He has performed his professional practice first as a Sociology professor on an academic level, later on as a coordinator of residential services for foster care children in Milano. Since 1992 as part time, and since 1996 as full-time freelancer he has operated as adult trainer, consultant, supervisor and researcher in the social field for public authorities and private companies, for the health sector as well as for the social service sector. At the same time he performed teaching and updated training courses for professionals in the social and health area in Italy and abroad. In 1997 he has been involved, as professional social worker, in the EU “Horizon” program and this experience started his involvement in EU funded projects which through time increased constantly. Now, after having also completed related studies at the Venice International University, he works full time as project designer, consultant, manager, and evaluator of different European programmes, for several clients in Italy and in Europe. He is fully involved in supporting private and public organisations in filing EU projects, and he also delivers training services also for clients among which are the Ministries and Regional Authorities in Italy. With other colleagues, experts in EU project design, he has created a consulting company in Verona (Italy) – ThinkEurope Consulting – which now places value on the long expertise and wide transnational connections which he and his co-workers have developed through time. His European imprinting is also represented by his private life: he was born in Germany, raised in his home country Italy, and got married with a Greek psychologist, and therefore he speaks Italian, German, English, and Greek. His only son has dual citizenship as of his birth. Thanks to this transnational life conditions he aims to unite in practice, besides in theory, the different cultures and nations which compose the European Union.
In 2007, Andreas co-founded a European not–for–profit organization, the Academy of Entrepreneurship, aiming to offer specialized short courses and webinars to innovative young entrepreneurs of Greece and the surrounding countries of South Eastern Europe. The Academy of Entrepreneurship has a European trademark and is supported by the Educational Association of Athens, “Hfaistos”, founded in 1935.
Andreas Stefanidis is also the President of the Federation of Hellenic Associations of Young Entrepreneurs – ESYNE. ESYNE is the National member for Greece, since 2002, of the European Confederation of Young Entrepreneurs, YES and the Host organization of the Global Entrepreneurship Network in Greece.
He is also the Founder and Managing Director of the Hellenic Management Accounting Centre, an innovative training and consultancy centre responsible for the provision of preparatory courses for the examinations of the professional qualification of Chartered Management Accountant and consultancy services for start-up businesses.
Andreas has been teaching Financial, Managerial and Cost Accounting courses at the State University of New York at New Paltz since 2004 as a visiting faculty. He has been offering vocational seminars in Entrepreneurship and Management Accounting to young entrepreneurs in Greece and other European countries.
